Ask a new question. Multiple different attempts to install Microsoft Teams on our desktop computer at home, including as administrator. All attempts result in the same popup error message: “Installation has failed. Failed to extract installer”. To see if it is related to cache in your PC, please first clear Teams cache in the following folders and see if it works.

First, thank you for taking the time to give me several options on resolving my issue regarding the installation of Teams on my Windows 10 desktop.
I will try to address each of your recommended solutions in the order in which you gave them. However, the bottom line is that none of the solutions worked, I am still not able to install Teams on my Windows 10 desktop. Your first recommendation was to try to clear the Teams cache. Therefore the cache associated with the file folder teams also did not exist and could not be deleted or cleared. Your next suggestion was to switch Windows profile.
I was unable to accomplish this because there was only one profile created on this computer when we first acquired it nine months ago. When I was setting up this computer, I did not see the necessity of creating more than one profile because my wife and I were the only ones using this computer in our home at the time. So, instead of switching to a different profile, I went into all the web browsers that we used in the first attempt and reset them all to factory standards.
Then I opened the browser settings and enabled receipt of all cookies, including third party cookies. I then disabled all security settings such as the firewall etc. Again, I had no better luck in installing Teams on my Windows 10 desktop. Your next suggestion was to download the Teams Desktop client from Teams on the web.
The following error window popped up:. I then went on the web to the Teams homepage and tried downloading the Teams install tool from that site as well with the same result. Keep in mind that the browsers are still set at the factory default and all my security software has been deactivated. Finally, you recommended that I re-start the PC to see if that helps. It had absolutely no impact on the problem. Lastly, you asked me to provide you with our Teams account and Teams version number.
We also cannot provide you with the Teams version number because Teams has not been installed on this computer yet. As background information we are trying to install Teams because the charity that we volunteer with has chosen Teams as their application of choice for videoconferencing. My wife is the president of the board. She conducts 2 to 3 videoconferences per week. We have found that using the web browser based Teams version only allows for the current speaker to be viewed, it does not allow the gallery view where all participants can be seen at one time.
The gallery view is only available with the application version and which is the view my wife prefers so that she can see the reactions of different people on the conference to what is being said at the time.
Any assistance you can give me in getting Teams installed on my home computer will be greatly appreciated. Threats include any threat of suicide, violence, or harm to another.
